What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Outpatient Therapist position at River Ridge Behavioral Health?
SUMMARY: Responsible for providing individual/family therapy with a variety of clients; completing all paperwork to effectively document the treatment process. Provide crisis intervention and emergency services, and participate in after hours "on call" duty. Provide consultation and education services as requested and attend all training and supervision sessions. Receives moderate supervision from department head and have considerable contact with individuals outside the organization.
EXAMPLES OF WORK

Provide individual/family therapy sessions as scheduled, following any professional or ethical standards set forth by the appropriate licensing body or the DMH.
Maintain appropriate caseload, providing ongoing assessments/evaluations to coordinate services to continue the course of treatment. Refer clients to outside agencies if needed.
Complete all client related paperwork as required by DMH within the required time frame to guarantee documentation is readily available
Maintain appropriate direct service time set by the agency to guarantee that services are provided both efficiently and cost effectively.
Participate in rotation of clinical staff that provides after-hours "on call" services to guarantee 24-hour coverage in case of emergencies.
Provide crisis services to unscheduled individuals as needed.
Assist community members in the completion of the “Application For Commitment” to begin the process of filing an involuntary commitment..
Conduct pre-screening evaluations on individuals being considered for an involuntary commitment to a psychiatric facility as requested by the Chancery Court, or their designee. Complete and route all documentation as mandated by law and policy.
Attend training seminars and in-services as scheduled.
Participate in all clinical staffings.
Meet with Director of Outpatient Services regularly.
Provide consultation and education services to outside agencies as requested or needed.
Solicit additional clinical supervision from the Director of Clinical Services as needed regarding course of treatment plan.
Provide consultation to master’s level interns through observation and verbal case consultation.
Provide clinical back-up for therapists as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree (M. A.) in Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work or related clinical field.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be license eligible by MFT, LPC, MSW, or the Mississippi Department of Mental Health
