Duties
- Assist patients with check-in procedures, including collecting medical history and verifying insurance information
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to support comprehensive eye examinations
- Prepare patients for exams by performing initial testing, including visual acuity assessments and refraction procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to accurately document patient information and clinical notes
- Support ophthalmology procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and assisting with equipment setup and sterilization
- Conduct optical measurements, including pupillary distance and corneal topography, to aid in lens fitting and eyewear selection
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical office settings or clinic environments is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and ophthalmology concepts
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes related to eye care services
- Experience with EMR systems is a plus
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to perform retail sales transactions and manage front desk responsibilities effectively
- Knowledge of retail math for sales processing and inventory management is advantageous
- Previous experience working with pediatric patients is a bonus
