Job Description:
River Rat’s Canoe Rental is seeking a dependable and motivated Field Manager to oversee daily river operations. This role is essential in ensuring that all trips are launched safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The Field Manager will supervise boat loaders, coordinate trip flow, and serve as the main point of contact for staff in the field. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to manage a fast-paced outdoor environment. This position will officially start Memorial Day weekend when RR opens for the season, but training will take place before the season opening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise boat loaders and field staff
- Ensure all trips are launched safely and in a timely manner
- Oversee daily field operations and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Act as the primary point of contact for staff questions regarding trips
- Ensure all boats are accounted for and off the water at the end of the day
- Enforce company policies, including late return fees
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Management experience preferred, CDL preferred but not required
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable managing high school-aged employees
- Willing to learn and enforce River Rat’s trip policies
Schedule & Expectations:
- Seasonal position with full-time hours available
- Overtime opportunities available
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including alternating weekends with another Field Manager (Weekend/Holiday availability is a MUST)
- Required to stay until all boats are off the water each day
