River Haven Counseling Center, LLC is a growing Christian private practice in McDonough, GA, where children, teens, and families come to find hope, heal, and learn valuable life skills. We provide faith-based counseling services alongside evidence-based practices in a warm, encouraging, and supportive environment.

We are seeking a self-driven, dedicated Clinician who is passionate about working with children (ages 5–17), young adults, parents, and families. This 1099 independent contractor position offers flexible scheduling, with strong client demand for evening (at least 2 days/week) and/or Saturday availability to accomodate afterschool requests.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual, group, or family counseling services for children, teens, and parents.
• Conduct initial diagnostic intake assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Build and maintain a consistent client caseload with the full support of our steady referral stream, taking ownership of your scheduling to best suit your lifestyle and client needs.
• Complete timely progress notes and clinical documentation adhering to state and ethical standards.
• Maintain active, compassionate communication with clients.

Requirements:

• Education: Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Must be licensed eligible or hold and maintain an active, unencumbered license (or associate license) in good standing with the state of Georgia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, or Licensed Psychologist).
• Experience: Direct experience working with children, teens, and parents/families.
• Teamwork & Communication: Must be a collaborative team player with strong, timely communication habits when coordinating with administrative staff and fellow clinicians.
• Clinical Skills: Proficient in diagnostic intakes, treatment planning, and ethical clinical documentation.
• Professional Malpractice Insurance Requirement: Must carry (or be willing to obtain) individual professional liability/malpractice insurance prior to seeing clients.
• Clinical Supervision: While associate licensed may be able to receive some supervision through River Haven Counseling Center, pre-licensed and associate licensees must have their own external certified approved supervisor in place prior to seeing clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or training in Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Behavioral Interventions, and/or Trauma-Informed Care.
• Experience in parenting education, family therapy, or couples counseling.
