Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Child, Adolescent & Family Therapist located in Alexandria, VA. The therapist will work directly with children and adolescents, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as play therapy and trauma-informed methods. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing individual or family therapy, collaborating with clients to set goals, maintaining case notes, and coordinating care with families and other professionals. The role also emphasizes fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment and participating in ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Experience with Play Therapy techniques and approaches
- Knowledge and skills in Social Work and Mental Health practices
- Experience working with children and adolescents in therapeutic settings
- Proficiency in Case Management, including documentation and care coordination
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent in Virginia
- Commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive care
- Training and experience in trauma-informed care is a plus
