We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Technician - IDD - to join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day. We are in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.
The Behavioral Health Technician - IDD cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems. He or she provides social interaction and companionship for patients in various healthcare settings under the direction of a licensed professional.
Location/Schedule – 60 Hwy 22 West, Milledgeville, GA – This available schedule is for full-time and part-time shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Complies with Oconee policies/procedures
- Comply with client facility nursing policies/procedures
- Maintains confidentiality relative to patient services and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.
- Provides companionship services, such as sitting with patient or reading to patient
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least six months of work experience as a sitter/companion in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in Behavioral Health
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
- Must be self-started and work independently.
- Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
