Position Overview
River Edge is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team within the Adult Addictive Disease Outpatient Program. We provide comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based outpatient treatment services to support individuals on their journey to full recovery from substance use disorders.
Location/Schedule:
175 Emery Highway, Macon, Ga –Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 12:00PM-8:00 PM, Wednesdays and Friday 8:00AM-4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling and support to clients and their families affected by substance use disorders.
- Facilitate group counseling sessions, including process therapy groups and educational sessions on addiction-related topics.
- Conduct confidential behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, addressing substance use and any co-occurring needs.
- Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary treatment team members to ensure coordinated, client-centered care.
- CAC I/II or CADC I/II OR
- LMSW or LPC with a minimum of two years’ experience in a social service-related role.
- Skilled in facilitating group therapy and skills training.
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders is a plus.
