Program Overview:
The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center provides individualized, short-term (up to 90 days) stabilization supports a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or co-occurring behavioral health (BH) diagnoses adults with. These individuals may be experiencing psychiatric crises or significant emotional/behavioral challenges that threaten their ability to remain in their current home environment.
Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, staff management, regulatory compliance, and budget oversight. This role requires strong psychiatric knowledge, proven leadership abilities, and the capacity to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Location/Schedule:
750 Hazel Street, Macon, GA – Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring effective resource management and smooth functioning of the crisis service facility.
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff during crisis situations, ensuring proper delegation and coordinated care.
- Manage staffing levels, develop schedules, and ensure adequate coverage to meet program needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care; implement quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all staff are properly trained and competent in required clinical skills.
- Participate in crisis interventions, assess patient needs, and provide clinical guidance to staff to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Develop and implement training programs focused on crisis management, de-escalation strategies, and specialized interventions, including healthcare plans.
Qualifications
- Active Georgia RN license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or a related field.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Preferred: Experience working with individuals with IDD.
