River Crest Country Club is seeking to add a full-time Pastry Cook to its Culinary team. Located five miles from downtown Fort Worth, River Crest is Fort Worth’s oldest and most storied country club.
River Crest offers an excellent Compensation & Benefits Package as well as a great work environment. The pay range for this position is $20 - $23 per hour based on verifiable experience. JOB SUMMARY
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing continental breakfast, pastry items, cake and pie making, ala carte desserts as well as banquet desserts.
The Pastry cook is responsible for preparing desserts for private events, member parties and all special events. The Pastry Cook is required to follow all Banquet and ala Carte dessert menus and banquet orders. Must be neat and organized and a self-starter. The Pastry Cooks responsibilities will also include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts and breads.
QUALIFICATIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Must have over six months of experience in a kitchen
- Must have a Fort Worth Food Handlers Card
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day or night shifts and overtime as necessary
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be clean, neat and professional
- Must have knowledge of kitchen equipment and how to operate equipment safely
- Must be a team player and always ready to pitch in
- Must work well with a large culinary team
- Must be open minded and creative
- Must be able to use feedback to correct food quality and issues in a professional manner
- Must have a professional, courteous & respectful attitude toward members, guests, vendors, co-workers and supervisors
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communications skills are required. Able to interact with a team through positive communication

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / FUNCTIONS / TASKS
- Prepare all Pastry items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Follow all club pastry recipes and presentation specifications
- Follow the club’s culinary standards
- Ensure the highest of food standards and freshness of all food products
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
- Clean area and maintain station by practicing good safety and sanitation procedures meeting health code standards
- Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Cook for small to large groups following Banquet Event Orders
- Assist the team that prepares the weekly buffets
- Responsible for producing high quality food that meets the Chef’s standards
- Meet daily timelines
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef / Sous Chef / Executive Chef
- Check all items prepped to assure it meets the Chef’s standard
- Maintain teamwork focus at all times
- Completes all assigned culinary tasks in a timely and an attractive manner
