We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC/R Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the seeking out and bidding on commercial HVAC and refrigeration installs. The Estimator will work closely with our project managers and project coordinators to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

Compensation: $40.00-$50.00 an hour, depending on experience and credentials

Responsibilities

• Review plans/specs, addenda, and RFI responses; perform mechanical takeoffs (sheet metal, piping, equipment, controls).
• Develop complete estimates: labor, material, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and general conditions.
• Scope and level vendor/sub quotes; prepare clarifications, exclusions, and value-engineering options.
• Build and maintain estimating assemblies and unit costs; update cost databases with job learnings.
• Lead bid reviews and handoffs to project management; support buyout and early submittals.
• Collaborate with GCs, owners, and design teams on design-build and GMP projects.
• Track opportunities and deadlines; coordinate pre-bid site walks
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years estimating commercial HVAC (plan/spec and/or design-build).
• Strong blueprint reading and takeoff skills (e.g., Bluebeam; QuickPen/Trimble, FastPIPE/FastDUCT, or similar a plus).
• Solid grasp of assemblies, crew rates, productivity factors, and means & methods.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes; experience with public works/prevailing wage a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups); estimating/CRM tools experience preferred.
• Clear communicator with builders' mindset: accurate, organized, deadline-reliable.
• Ability to pass airport/security background checks when required.
