Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Park Maintenance Worker and play a vital role in preserving the beauty, safety, and functionality of public parks and recreational areas. This energetic position involves performing a wide range of landscape maintenance tasks to ensure parks remain inviting, clean, and well-maintained for community enjoyment. You will be responsible for working on a pump truck, assisting with water leak repairs, pool maintenance, maintaining lawns, and natural landscapes, utilizing various tools and techniques to keep outdoor spaces thriving.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance activities including mowing lawns to enhance park aesthetics.
- Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and effectively.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting water spickets to ensure proper water to lots in the park.
- Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, hammers, etc
- Conduct routine inspections of park facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Assist with the installation and upkeep of park features such as playground equipment, pool furniture, and gates.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in landscaping and park maintenance is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued.
- Knowledge pool maintenance techniques is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and lawn care practices.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor as needed.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions independently.
