About the Role
Riverbend Health & Rehab is seeking a patientcentered SLP to evaluate and treat adults with speech, language, cognitivelinguistic, and swallowing disorders in a postacute/skilled nursing setting. You’ll collaborate closely with nursing, PT/OT, dietary, and the interdisciplinary care team to help residents regain function, communicate effectively, and safely enjoy the least restrictive diet possible.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive evaluations (speech, language, voice, cognition, and dysphagia) and develop evidencebased, individualized plans of care.
Provide treatment for aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitivelinguistic deficits, voice disorders, and dysphagia; implement compensatory and restorative approaches.
Manage dysphagia care: clinical swallow assessments, diet texture/liquid recommendations, staff/family education, and coordination of instrumental studies (e.g., MBSS/FEES) with partners as appropriate.
Document timely, accurate evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in the EMR consistent with regulatory, payer, and facility standards (including Medicare/PDPM).
Participate in care plan meetings, IDT rounds, and quality/outcome initiatives; track functional outcomes and goal attainment.
Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies, safe swallowing, and carryover of home exercise programs.
Uphold infection prevention, safety, and HIPAA compliance; contribute to a positive, teamoriented culture.
[Optional, if applicable] Provide oversight to SLPAssistants per North Carolina regulations.
Master’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited program.
Current (or eligible) North Carolina SLP license in good standing.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCSLP) or Clinical Fellowship in progress.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience in skilled nursing, acute/postacute rehab, or adult neuro preferred; strong newgrad clinicals considered.
Proficiency with EMR documentation and standardized outcome measures.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and timemanagement skills.
Salary : $38 - $51
