Job Overview
River Bend Farm Market is located in Townshend, VT. We offer full service deli, meat, seafood in addition to standard produce and grocery. We pride ourselves on the quality of our product and customer service. We currently have a position available in our store deli. Applicant should be a team player with an attention to detail and the ability to complete daily food preparation and customer service tasks with minimal supervision. Must be at least 18 years old. There are day and night shifts available- weekends mandatory. Daily tasks would include: -hot lunch/dinner prep -preparation of various salads -keeping back up supplies replenished -excellence in customer service -open communication with other Departments in order to meet store needs
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, following food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about products, and offering upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling, bussing tables, and sanitizing work surfaces
- Restock shelves and display cases to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times to ensure quality and compliance
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafes, or grocery stores is preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for retail math, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Kitchen or culinary experience is beneficial but not required; a willingness to learn is essential
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
