Position Summary:
The Credit Administration Specialist supports the bank’ lending and credit functions by ensuring loan documentation, credit files, and approval processes comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining credit quality, supporting lenders, and ensuring accurate and timely loan processing within a community banking environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate loan packages for the bank’s loan committees.
- Prepare minutes for the bank’s loan committees.
- Prepare reports for committees and board of director meetings.
- Maintain OREO (other real estate owned) and Repo files.
- Liaison between the lenders, the bank and legal to maintain collections.
- Assist lenders and credit officers with loan renewals, modifications, extensions, and new credit requests
- Monitor and track financial statements, ticklers, covenants, and exception reports
- Support internal and external audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations
- Identify documentation exceptions or policy deviations and escalate as appropriate
- Collaborate with lending, operations, and compliance teams to support efficient loan processes
- Gather financial information in preparation of new & renewed credits
- Analyze loan applicant’s business plan, financial statements and related documents to identify and assess financial risk and other factors relating to the proposed loan.
- Evaluate creditworthiness of potential borrower and assists in assigning a risk rating to the credit
- Prepare detailed written loan presentations and credit risk assessments to include borrowers’ financial strengths and weaknesses.
- Participate in loan presentations and/or present loans for approval.
- Review appraisals and environmental reports to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Perform file reviews and update new and existing loan files for the bank on a regular basis as it relates to annual risk rating reviews.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in loan operations, credit administration, or a loan related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include: Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Expectations:
- Working knowledge of commercial and/or consumer lending practices
- Understanding of loan documentation, collateral, and credit administration processes
- Familiarity with banking regulations (e.g., safety and soundness, documentation standards)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with core banking systems, Microsoft Office, and document management systems
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment
- Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are essential.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and complete annual compliance training

Physical Demands:
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will regularly
