River Therapies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a smooth patient experience, and providing essential administrative support within our medical facility. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in various medical software systems, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding, as well as medical billing practices.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling as necessary.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with documentation review and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Utilize EMR system
- Understanding CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and other relevant coding systems.
- Medical billing responsibilities and duties.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and assist in patient intake procedures.
- Perform clerical duties including cleaning, filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Provide administrative support to the medical office team as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices is essential; experience with ICD coding is a plus.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills relevant to office management tasks.
- Experience with medical billing procedures.
