Overview
We are seeking an experienced Capital Equipment Sales Manager with a proven ability to identify, develop, and close sales opportunities to lead and grow our sales efforts and our sales team. This role is responsible for shaping sales strategy, strengthening the sales pipeline, improving overall sales effectiveness, and mentoring our sales representatives.
The ideal candidate understands long sales cycles, consultative solution selling, and how to navigate both customer organizations and internal technical teams.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, and leadership to align customer needs with Riveer’s capabilities, ensuring solutions are technically sound, competitively positioned, and executable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive growth across target industries (ex: defense, construction, mining, industrial)
- Lead, mentor, and support the sales team through coaching, accountability, and ongoing development
- Support the onboarding, training, and development of new sales personnel
- Monitor individual and team performance and provide timely feedback and support
- Promote consistency and accountability in opportunity tracking, forecasting, and communication practices across the sales team
- Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities, market segments, and key accounts
- Act as a bridge between sales and engineering to ensure alignment on scope, feasibility, and timelines
- Work to ensure smooth project handoffs and customer satisfaction
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quoting, proposal development, and overall sales processes
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy
- Provide input into product development, positioning, and messaging based on real-world market needs
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in capital equipment, industrial, or engineered systems sales
- 3-5 years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing salespeople
- Proven track record of developing and closing complex, high-value deals
- Strong technical aptitude; ability to understand and communicate engineered solutions (engineering background or experience preferred)
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering or technical teams in a custom product environment
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a sales pipeline, including forecasting and CRM utilization
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred
