The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for managing customer inquiries, preparing quotations, coordinating with engineering and supply chain teams, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires technical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate customer requirements into actionable internal tasks. This position reports to the Executive Vice President.
Our ideal candidate will have experience performing the following customer-focused sales and product development job duties, preferably within a manufacturing/distribution environment.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms
· Demonstrates ownership of customer communications, ensuring timely, clear, and accountable responses with defined next steps.
· Collect and assess customer technical requirements to support engineering team in determining the most appropriate products and solutions
· Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers
· Prepare accurate and timely quotations based on engineering specifications, drawings, and sourcing requirements
· Follow up on quotes, proposals, and open opportunities to drive conversion and meet sales targets
· Track sales leads and ensure timely follow-up
· Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to obtain cost estimates, lead times, and technical data
· Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, and sales activities in CRM
· Support data entry, reporting, and tracking of key sales metrics
· Provide feedback to engineering and sourcing teams regarding customer trends and market needs
· Field all customer inquiries as liaison to design, materials, and engineering teams
· Assist with creating sales presentations, proposals, and other customer-facing materials
· Maintain a high degree of professionalism and a professional image in all interactions
· Help schedule meetings, calls, and follow-ups for the sales team
· All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other related field preferred.
· Strong communication skills and customer-first attitude.
· Experience entering data in ERP/CRM system required (preferably NetSuite).
· Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with textiles a plus
- Strong MS Office, including Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Project
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral is essential
- Ability to influence decisions with cross-functional teams.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work proactively and problem solve
- Must be fluent in English. Ability to read/write or speak foreign languages is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good judgement and decision-making ability.
- Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment
