Ritz Pump Service is a family-owned commercial mechanical service company serving customers throughout New York City and New Jersey. We specialize in pumps, motors, VFDs, HVAC equipment, cooling towers and other commercial building mechanical systems. We are looking for a Business Development Specialist to bring in new customers, develop relationships and help grow our commercial service business.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new customers and sales opportunities throughout the NYC market
- Generate leads through cold calling, email, referrals, networking and in-person visits
- Research prospective customers, buildings and organizations to identify the right contacts and opportunities
- Develop relationships with property managers, facility managers, chief engineers, building owners, general contractors and other industry professionals
- Meet with prospective customers to learn about their buildings, current challenges and upcoming mechanical needs
- Introduce customers to Ritz Pump Service and explain the services and capabilities we can provide
- Identify opportunities for repairs, maintenance, equipment replacement and larger mechanical projects
Qualifications
- 2 years of outside sales, business development, commercial property management or account management experience
- Pre-existing book of business in the commercial building services industry
- Experience in HVAC, mechanical services, construction, facilities, property management or a related industry is a plus
- Proven ability to find new customers and develop lasting business relationships
- Strong communication, sales and negotiation skills
- Comfortable making cold calls, visiting prospective customers and starting new relationships
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own schedule and sales activity
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout NYC
- Technical experience is not required.
We are primarily looking for someone who knows how to sell and develop relationships in the commercial building industry.

Compensation will be structured to reward new sales growth. This is a business development focused position. The goal is to bring Ritz Pump Service into new buildings and organizations and turn those relationships into ongoing service, repair and project work.
