Position Overview:
The Sous Chef will assist in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations in a high-volume catering and events environment. This role requires a passionate and skilled culinary professional who thrives in fast-paced settings and demonstrates strong leadership, creativity, and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and team management
- Maintain exceptional food quality and consistency in high-volume production
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering clear communication and teamwork
- Assist with menu planning, food presentation, and creative culinary development
- Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
- Adapt seamlessly between various kitchen environments both on and off property
- Uphold and model the “Ritz Charles Way” to ensure every guest experience is outstanding
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Minimum 5 years of high-volume kitchen management experience
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and events as needed
- Proven leadership and communication skills with both staff and management
- Strong, diverse culinary knowledge and practical cooking techniques
- Demonstrated creativity in menu and presentation development
- Commitment to excellence and continuous learning
- Must be fluent in English (required)
