Role Overview

• SAP Technical Lead will be responsible for steering the end-to-end technical architecture and build strategy for an S/4HANA greenfield implementation.
• This role will oversee all technical workstreams including integration, analytics, data migration, enterprise portal (Fiori/BTP), enterprise structure alignment, and RICEFW development, ensuring clean core principles, extensibility via BTP, and future scalability.
• The Technical Lead acts as the technical design authority across internal teams, system integrators, and strategic partners, ensuring solution consistency, performance, reliability, and cybersecurity alignment.
• This position is based in Cleveland, OH, and requires the consultant to work onsite at the customer location to collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Program-Level Technical Leadership

• Serve as the primary technical architect and decision authority for the technical portion of the S/4HANA program.
• Translate business process architecture into scalable, secure, and SAP-aligned technical solutions.
• Own the overall technical roadmap and guardrails, ensuring clean core principles are upheld.

Integration

• Oversee design and build of all integrations (SAP BTP, CPI, Azure Integration Services, APIs).
• Define integration patterns and security standards for ECC S/4 migration and future state.
• Ensure interoperability with enterprise applications such as CRM, commerce, operations, and manufacturing platforms.

Analytics & Data

• Lead enterprise data architecture for S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAC, and reporting enablement.
• Provide oversight for data migration strategy, cleansing, transformation, and governance.
• Ensure fit-for-purpose KPIs, self-service analytics, and semantic layer consistency.

RICEFW & Extensibility

• Own strategy and quality for all custom development (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
• Drive BTP-based extensibility versus core modifications.
• Validate code quality, reusability, and adherence to SAP clean-core development standards.

Enterprise Portal & UX

• Govern design and rollout of SAP Fiori launchpad / BTP enterprise portal.
• Ensure role-based UX aligned with value streams and persona-based access.

Enterprise Structure

• Provide technical oversight to ensure enterprise structure decisions align with integration architecture, reporting design, and template governance.

Qualifications

• 10 years of SAP technical architecture or development leadership across ECC and S/4HANA.
• Proven experience in at least one full-cycle S/4HANA greenfield implementation (preferably in manufacturing or CPG environments).
• Strong technical background in:
• SAP BTP, CPI / Integration Suite
• ABAP RESTful Programming (RAP), CDS, OData
• HANA modelling / SAC
• Data migration tooling (BODS, Migration Cockpit, SDI/SDQ)
• Experience governing SI/vendor teams and managing offshore/nearshore delivery models.
• Understanding of Azure platform services, IAM, and data governance in a hybrid-cloud context.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, and DevOps toolchains.
