Job Summary:
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all construction activities including but not limited to design, permitting, building, and cutover of OSP projects. The Construction Coordinator must be highly detailed, communicative, collaborative, task driven and comfortable working with technology. This role requires self-motivation and strong project coordination experience to contribute to all areas of expertise with various cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties:
- Tracks project objectives by reviewing tasks, conferring with management, and communicating with contractors;
- Conduct quality control inspections as needed to ensure work completed follows Ritter construction guidelines;
- Assign tasks to internal and external teams including contractor resources;
- Supports construction Manager and Supervisor in the field with newly acquired information and updates of progress;
- Participates in project calls and provides updates where applicable;
- Collects updates from construction contractors in the field and provides status reports.
- Reports on specific project milestones, risks, and issues;
- Communicate with all teams involved and drive progress for each project;
- Manages data within proprietary software;
- Interacts daily with stakeholders to interpret their needs and requirements;
- Checks and responds to emails;
- Able to work necessary hours as required to meet project deadlines;
- Travels to customer sites, project areas, business related events, and other Ritter Communications locations as required;
- Other related duties and projects assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of telecommunications network design and construction practices;
- Knowledge of various operating systems, Word, Excel, Explorer, and Outlook;
- Strong organization and time management skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details;
- Proficient in the use of appropriate project management reporting and tracking software;
- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently;
- Flexible during times of change;
- Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating;
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments;
- Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
- Ability to defuse tension among project teams, should it arise;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial;
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, collaborative environment is essential;
- Ability to travel for business requirements must possess a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, must pass DOT certification.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required; three years of OSP construction work experience and/or demonstrated proficiency equal to job knowledge skills and abilities required.
