What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Clerk position at Rittenhouse Markets?
We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team of Deli Clerks. Candidates should have a passion for customer service and a “guest first” mentality for a great guest experience.
Entry-level positions starting at $14/hr., Medical and Dental Benefits, flexible scheduling and participation in the company 401(k) are offered with plenty of opportunity for growth.
**Candidate must have prior experience in a retail deli environment**
- Must have verifiable experience using a deli slicer and have knife handling skills
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays
- Clean presentation and positive attitude required to give the best customer service
Requirements are listed, but not limited to the below…
- assists in the receiving process of varied products and maintains back stock in good order
- ensures that all shelves and displays are properly stocked and front facing
- maintains freshness of perishable products and follows food safety/sanitation procedures
- able to identify deli salads, meats and cheeses
- experience with custom sandwich and salad preparation
- knowledge of proper product rotation practices
- knowledge of proper cooking techniques
- should have no limitations with regard to bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs and standing for entire shift 4-8 hours
- must have the necessary patience to provide excellent customer service
