About the Role
RITEC is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Production Planner to join our advanced manufacturing team in Simi Valley, CA.
You’ll play a key role in coordinating materials, managing work orders, and supporting purchasing to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of rugged electronics for aerospace and defense programs.
This position works closely with production, procurement, and engineering teams to keep schedules on track, suppliers aligned, and workflows efficient.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and release work orders aligned with customer demand, production capacity, and material availability
- Collaborate with purchasing to source and manage suppliers for materials, circuit board assemblies (CCAs), and outside processing
- Work directly with board houses to coordinate turnkey or consigned PCB builds, ensuring schedule adherence and quality
- Coordinate outside processing such as plating, painting, and conformal coating
- Track supplier performance and resolve material shortages or schedule delays
- Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, and lead-time data for planning accuracy
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality to ensure materials are ready and job travelers are accurate
- Maintain up-to-date records in the ERP/MRP system (POs, receipts, work order status)
- Identify potential production constraints or cost-saving opportunities
- Support inventory control and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 3–5 years in production planning and procurement within a manufacturing environment
Technical Skills:
- ERP/MRP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor)
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes and supplier management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing
- Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and quality compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating outside processing (plating, painting, conformal coat)
- Experience managing board house relationships and CCA builds using consigned or turnkey kits
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred
- US Citizen Only (ITAR)
