Job Summary
The Sewer Service Technician possesses a strong background in sewer and drain system maintenance and repair, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service. The Sewer Service Technician, is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining sewer systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Site Assessment: Evaluate the condition of sewer and drainage systems to determine the feasibility of CIPP lining and identify areas that require repair.
- Material Preparation: Assemble and prepare the necessary CIPP lining materials, including resin-soaked liners and calibration tubes.
- Equipment Setup: Set up and calibrate the CIPP lining equipment, including inversion drums, curing units, and cameras.
- Sewer Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the existing sewer or drainage pipes to remove debris, scale, and obstructions using high-pressure water jets or mechanical cleaning tools.
- Liner Installation: Insert the resin-soaked liner into the existing pipe using inversion or pulling techniques, ensuring it conforms to the pipe's contours.
- Liner Expansion: Expand the liner to conform to the inner surface of the existing pipe using inflation or other appropriate methods.
- Curing Process: Initiate the curing process, typically using steam, hot water, or UV light, to harden the resin and create a structurally sound and watertight liner.
- Quality Control: Monitor and control the curing process to ensure proper adhesion and curing of the liner, making adjustments as needed.
- Trimming and Inspection: Trim excess liner material and inspect the repaired section using cameras or other inspection equipment to ensure the liner's quality.
- Reinstatement of Connections: Reopen and reconnect lateral pipes, such as service connections or branch lines, by cutting and reinstating openings in the cured liner.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the CIPP lining process, including measurements, materials used, and quality control checks.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safe operation of equipment and tools, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Client Communication: Interact professionally with clients and property owners, providing progress updates and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and address any issues or challenges that may arise during the lining process, such as wrinkles or defects in the liner.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CIPP lining equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely.
- Environmental Compliance: Follow environmental regulations and best practices for the disposal of waste materials and cleaning agents.
- Emergency Response: Be available for emergency repairs and provide immediate assistance as needed, including outside regular working hours.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in CIPP lining technology and techniques through training and professional development.

Education & Experience
- Proven experience as a Sewer/Drain Service Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of sewer and drain systems, plumbing codes, and regulations.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull objects of up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to continually stand, walk, climb, ascend/descend ladders, bend, stoop, crawl, and crouch, frequently in tight spaces, for extended periods of time, in indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to continually use hands/fingers to handle, feel, utilize tools, and operate machinery.
Work Environment & Conditions
- Field environment including interior and exterior of customers' residential properties. May require exposure to weather conditions, dusts, and mists that may be present while working outdoors. Exposure to chemicals may occur. Use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety-footwear, goggles, gloves, shield, mask or respirator, and hardhats may be required.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle and possess a valid driver license and insurable driving history.
- Must pass background screen, drug test, and motor vehicle records check.
Work Schedule
- Generally, Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 4PM, additional periodic nights and weekends may be required to accommodate business needs.
