Ship Specification Engineer

Rite-Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Ship Specification Engineer. You will serve as an engineer in the Naval Architecture & Engineering Department, Future Concepts & Design Integration Division within the Submarine Design Integration Branch. This position is full-time located on-site at Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate SSN(X) ship specification development activities. This includes planning and overseeing SSN(X) ship specification efforts focused on evaluation of legacy requirements and identification of requirement gaps, as well as the processes to govern development and configuration management of the future SSN(X) ship specifications.
• Manage interfaces and continued collaboration with the SSN(X) Digital Engineering team. This includes leading the Requirements Modeling Working Group within the Digital Engineering Integrated Product Team, managing data interoperability between modeling environments, ensuring alignment in the execution of specification requirement-related activities.
• Provide the technical interface between ship specifications and technology research and development efforts led by the Research and Development (R&D) Manager.
• Support the Ship Design Manager (SDM) and Deputy Ship Design (DSDM) in planning/executing SSN(X) ship specification development or any other duties as assigned.
• Ensure internal and external activities across various technical areas are adequately interfacing in support of SSN(X) ship specification development and lead resolution of any technical issues.
• Provide leadership and mentoring as a senior member of the Technical Group.
• Provide Washington Navy Yard on-site support, including management and oversight of classified efforts related to ship specification development and travel as needed.
• Represent the PMS 351 Technical Group with various activities and Program Offices as well as coordinating with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, shipbuilders, and research centers for technical task reviews, system engineering efforts, hardware and software development, system / subsystems / sub-tier specification development, and interface definition and documentation.

Skills and Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD secret security clearance
• Related experience 5-10 ' experience
• Systems Engineering degree, or related years of experience
