The Oaks Academy is a secure post-adjudication facility located in Brownwood, Texas that provides comprehensive services to young men (13-17), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility features group, individual, and family therapy, on-site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities for the young men. Pay: starting at $20/hour depending on relevant education and experience

What you will do: In this role, you will perform work orders including general building maintenance, changing light bulbs, minor electrical repairs, repairing drywall, painting, paneling, wallpapering, sheetrock work, hanging doors, adjusting locks and door hardware, fixing or replacing broken windows and screens, hanging pictures, minor plumbing repairs, unplugging drains, replacing leaky washers, re-lighting, replacing and adjusting heaters and controls, maintaining smoke detectors and emergency lights, maintaining and installing swamp coolers/air conditioners, replacing floor tiles, carpeting and linoleum, repairing roofing, grounds maintenance/irrigation if needed, and new construction, etc.
To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent - Be at least 21 years of age - Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test - Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
Schedule: To be determined and approved by supervisor.
