Rite of Passage is hiring for a Business Office Director at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona ✨
The Business Office Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the healthcare revenue cycle, including billing, accounts receivable, cash collections, and claims management. This role leads business office staff, monitors key financial performance indicators, and ensures timely reimbursement from third-party payers. Working closely with facility leadership, admissions, utilization review, and finance teams, the Business Office Director ensures accurate billing practices, compliance with payer requirements, and efficient collection of facility receivables to support the organization’s financial health.
Key Qualifications
Monitor and analyze key revenue cycle performance metrics including cash collections, accounts receivable days outstanding, unbilled accounts, claim denials, and daily census, collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure financial targets are achieved.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls for all cash collections and postings within the patient accounting system to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.
Communicate and coordinate with third-party payers and insurance carriers to resolve billing and reimbursement issues that impact cash flow and patient/member satisfaction.
Lead, mentor, and manage business office staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development to ensure efficient departmental operations.
Maintain regular communication with facility and corporate leadership teams to ensure compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations.
Oversee relationships with external collection agencies, including vendor selection, performance monitoring, reconciliation of agency reports to internal system reports, and approval of agency invoices.
Provide strategic leadership for all business office operations, including claims management, accounts receivable follow-up, and collections, ensuring timely and efficient reimbursement of facility receivables.
Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures that support organizational financial objectives and operational excellence.
Review financial and operational reports to identify trends, operational gaps, or revenue discrepancies and implement corrective action plans to improve performance.
Collaborate closely with Admissions and Utilization Review teams to ensure appropriate patient insurance verification, authorizations, and coverage prior to and during services.
Direct and support staff in establishing clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures aligned with department and organizational priorities.
