Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, and paratransit vans to transport patients efficiently and comfortably.
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed to ensure their safety and dignity.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients or moving mobility equipment, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation routes.
- Keep accurate logs of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine services is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in commercial driving or school bus driving with a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience in paratransit services or other specialized transportation roles is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle maintenance tasks related to vehicle upkeep.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
