Event Server

About the Role:

As an Event Server within the accommodation and food services industry, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences during a variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties. Your primary objective is to ensure guests receive attentive, courteous, and efficient service from the moment they arrive until the event concludes. You will collaborate closely with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and other service team members to maintain smooth operations and uphold high standards of food presentation and service. This role demands adaptability to different event settings and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining professionalism. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality, preferably in a fast-paced event environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in food handling or alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe).
• Experience working in banquet or catering services.
• Ability to lift and carry trays or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Multilingual abilities to assist diverse guest populations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately according to event specifications and guest preferences.
• Set up and break down event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and serviceware as required.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate timely delivery of orders and address any special requests or dietary restrictions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event to comply with health and safety standards.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and resolve any service issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist with inventory management by reporting supply needs and handling equipment responsibly.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to alcohol service and safety regulations.
