What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operators position at Rita Nygard?
Workers are required to have prior experience operating agricultural equipment in a grain farming environment. This is not an entry-level position; workers must arrive with the skills necessary to perform tasks with minimal instruction. Responsibilities include operating tractors and a range of mechanized equipment to prepare large acreage for planting, including disking, harrowing, and applying fertilizers. Workers will operate planters and seeders to plant grain crops with precision. During harvest, duties include operating combines, grain carts, and trucks to collect and move grain efficiently. Workers must monitor equipment performance, perform daily checks, and carry out routine maintenance such as greasing, cleaning air filters, and changing fluids. Workers will use GPS and auto-steer systems where applicable and must be able to operate with care and attention to detail. Additional duties include assisting with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and grain, as well as cleaning and organizing work areas. Tasks are physically demanding and performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Due to the time-sensitive nature of planting and harvesting, workers must work efficiently and be prepared for extended hours. This role requires seasoned equipment operators capable of working independently within a structured team environment to meet seasonal production goals. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
