Title: Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist
Location: Clearwater/Tampa Bay (10855 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33764)
Salary: $22–$24 per hour
Overview:
Our largest client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to join their finance team in Clearwater, FL. This full-time, direct-hire role is responsible for managing daily AR operations, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely collections. This position is based on-site and reports to the Financial Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post daily bank deposits to individual customer accounts
- Reconcile AR accounts with invoices, payments, and general ledger activity
- Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to follow up on outstanding balances
- Make collection decisions based on credit history, payment patterns, and company policy
- Record and apply payments accurately, and maintain organized documentation
- Work closely with customers to resolve billing issues while maintaining strong relationships
- Collaborate with internal departments regarding billing for goods and services
- Assist with preparing reports and financial records for month-end close
- Help improve AR processes and ensure compliance with accounting laws and regulations
- Support other accounting functions as needed during peak times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in B2B collections
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools
- Strong communication, judgment, and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Comfortable representing the company professionally and maintaining confidentiality
