Job summary
The LTL Terminal Manager is responsible for all phases of the daily operations of the cross-dock freight facility. They are responsible for managing dock workers and drivers, optimizing freight loading and sorting, ensuring strict safety and DOT compliance, and maximizing profitability while meeting customer delivery expectations.
The LTL Terminal Manager is part of a comprehensive team, including sales, safety and personnel. Excellent communication and teamwork in a cooperative support environment are critical.

Core Responsibilities
Manage inbound and outbound freight. Ensure the safe, efficient loading/unloading of shipments, and manage forklift traffic and sortation.
Recruit, hire, train, and mentor terminal staff, dock workers, and city/line-haul drivers.
Enforce adherence to all state and federal regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards as well as company-based safety programs and incentives.
Monitor facility KPIs (e.g., revenue per route, dock production) and implement process improvements to hit efficiency and profit targets.
Act as the primary point of contact for resolving service issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Partner with internal or external shop and repair operations to ensure availability and maintenance of serviceable equipment to provide continuity of operations.
Be the primary point of contact and responsible individual for building security, facilities maintenance, on site vendor management and related activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
2–5 years of prior management or supervisory experience in the LTL or transportation/logistics industry
High school diploma required. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business is highly preferred; however, we will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
High aptitude for technology, including proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Efficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. The effective manager will exemplify teamwork, mentorship and the ability to maintain staff accountability.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; Ability to lift up to fifty Pounds; Ability to walk on Non-Forgiving Surfaces.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Commercial driver’s license a plus.
