What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL A Linehaul Driver- Allentown, PA position at RIST Transport LTD?
We are looking for an experienced truck drivers to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. RIST Terminal to RIST Terminal.
*** Overnight position, Home daily, Monday - Friday, approximately 7 PM - 5 AM ***
*** After 6 months, drivers eligible for up to $4000/year SAFETY BONUS ***
Responsibilities
- Transport company trailers to and from terminal to terminal in overnight hours.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, PeopleNet systems)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid truck driving license, Class A CDL with or the ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $0.68 - $0.70 per mile
