Risk Placement Services (RPS), a division of Gallagher, is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Underwriter to join our growing Transportation team. This role offers the opportunity to underwrite a diverse portfolio of transportation accounts while partnering with retail agents to deliver creative solutions for complex risks.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Underwrite new and renewal transportation and commercial auto business within established authority.
- Evaluate risk characteristics, pricing, coverage structures, and policy terms to ensure profitable growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and agency partners.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to secure new business opportunities.
- Analyze loss history, financial information, and underwriting data to make sound risk decisions.
- Collaborate with carrier partners to identify coverage solutions for transportation-related exposures.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and transportation industry developments.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
- Detail oriented; strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills
