Role Summary:

The PS Clinical Program Specialist (CPS) is responsible for providing clinical expertise and guidance to the Patient Safety Department and the AMC PSO, supporting the Senior Program Director, VP of Patient Safety and others. Ensures collaboration across multiple departments and works closely with stakeholders to support core activities of CRICO’s mission and Patient Safety programs. As a key member of the Patient Safety department, the Clinical Program Specialist provides clinical expertise and guidance to programmatic efforts designated within Patient Safety and the PSO. Activities include participation in PSO programmatic activities and PSO data management (data input, analysis and feedback of RCAIE tool), as well as participating in the Risk Assessment Unit. The CPS also aids in assessing clinical milestones and effectiveness metrics associated with programs, helps with problem-solving and process improvement efforts, and provides guidance to other Patient Safety and PSO team members.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists with daily operations, ensuring appropriate levels of support to the Senior Program Director,
    VP of Patient Safety and others involved in PS programmatic activities. Works directly with Patient Safety team members and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to successfully execute specific program goals and objectives relating to risk management and patient safety activities.
  • Contributes to the day-to-day operations of the PSO to ensure alignment with stated objectives and adherence to program requirements.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with clients and key individuals within the organization
  • Works with Data Analysts to analyze data to identify drivers of risk and patient safety.
  • Successfully contributes to programmatic efforts to meet established milestones, timelines and specific deliverables. Apply expertise in research methods to assist in evaluation of grant funded initiatives.
  • Execute tasks as defined in the project plans in order to achieve project goals.
  • Meets regularly with the Senior Program Director, VP of Patient Safety, and program staff to review progress, action items, and deliverables.
  • Assists with the design and development of communication tools including frequently asked questions, talking points and implementation tools and disseminates patient safety information to CRICO shareholders.
  • Participates in convening sessions, consortiums, and ad hoc meetings, including documenting clinical perspectives/feedback. Assists in review of synthesis of meeting minutes and any associated publications for accuracy and interpretation.
  • Assists with coordinating the research associated with programs, including the development of materials by performing literature research and synthesis of information relevant to convening topic.
  • Works with the Senior Program Director to develop and deliver relevant presentations of PS program findings
  • Deals with projects and issues that are significant, sensitive, political and confidential in nature.
  • Performs other related work as required by position.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • BA or BS degree required
  • Advance professional certification in patient safety preferred
  • 5-10 clinical experience required
  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience leading and managing quality project, programs and/or metrics of
    varying complexity required
  • Knowledge of current issues in the healthcare environment preferred

  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills and the ability to manage
    multiple and changing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required for working with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent judgment and ability to interpret and follow program requirements
  • Regard for HIPAA privacy/HITECH and confidential information essential
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Skilled in leveraging data analysis tools and techniques to obtain, clean, and organize data to generate recommendations and insights

Specialized Certifications: Certification in Patient Safety preferred


People Management: No direct people management responsibilities — contributes to daily department operations, providing guidance to PS and PSO s staff and input into the performance management process.


This role is Part-Time 30 hours per week, benefits eligible. The role follows a hybrid schedule on Monday and Tuesday for the first 3 months, with the ability to transition to 1x day per week (Monday's) in office after the onboarding period at manager's discretion

The expected hourly range for this position is $50.00 to $55.00 per hour. This represents the employer’s good faith estimate of the compensation range at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, education, and qualifications.
