We’re Hiring: Digital Transformation & SmartShop Deployment Specialist

Location: Schenectady, NY

Working Model: 100% on-site

Working Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with flexibility. Hours may change to support deployment activities.

Travel: None

Bill Rate: $62/hr

Contract Duration:5 Months (Possible extension)

Hours: 40 hours/week

Interview Process: Two rounds—first round virtual with cameras on; second round in person. Interviews include a one-on-one with the manager and a possible panel during the in-person round.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Digital Transformation & SmartShop Deployment Specialist to support digital transformation at a manufacturing facility. You will serve as the primary contact for SmartShop support, drive user adoption, deliver training, and provide hands-on shop floor assistance as new technologies are introduced.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for SmartShop questions, troubleshooting, and user support.
• Deliver training to operators, supervisors, and salaried employees on SmartShop processes and best practices.
• Maintain a strong shop floor presence to identify challenges, support employees, and reinforce effective system use.
• Support deployment planning, readiness activities, go-live execution, and post-launch stabilization.
• Develop and maintain standard work, training materials, job aids, and user documentation.
• Promote adoption, address resistance, and help teams transition to new processes and technologies.
• Coach employees and leaders on digital tools and process changes to sustain adoption.
• Gather user feedback and support continuous improvements to platform effectiveness and user experience.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and IT on digital initiatives and future deployments.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Engineering.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational support.
• Ability to lead digital initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.
• Adaptable communication skills for engaging employees across different roles.
• Comfort working directly with shop floor personnel and building trust through frequent operational engagement.
• Creative problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Proven ability to drive change and build stakeholder buy-in.
