Job description:
Dental Receptionist wanted for busy Northern Dauphin county dental office. We are a family dental practice that treats patients of all ages. Our office provides high- tech care in a small town environment.
Candidates must be friendly and outgoing with good phone skills. We are re-locating our office from Millersburg, PA to Elizabethville, PA in July of 2023 and are expanding!
Basic computer knowledge necessary. Candidate must be willing to learn dental terminology and dental software.

Ability to self-manage responsibilities and work well with other office team members
Duties/ responsibilities:
Reception Management
Open and close dental office according to office protocol
Check the daily schedule for accuracy and provide schedule to dental team as appropriate
Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism
Review supplies for reception and provide order to business manager
Welcoming patients in a professional and cordial manner
Tracking patient appointments and recall in the dental software
Checking out patients following appointments
Processing credit card payments and care credit payments
Answering phones
Scheduling appointments
Submit dental insurance claims
Patient Management
Maintain a professional reception area/office (organize patient education materials and magazines, straighten up the facility, oversee cleaning service schedule and duties, etc.)
Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practice
Check in patients according to office protocol, verifying and updating health information
Providing HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and documenting according to office policies and procedures
Manage recall and inactive patient system
Confirm upcoming appointments by telephone
Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff time
Check patient back-up list to try to fill in cancellation and no-show appointment times
Collect payment from patients at time of treatment
Schedule follow-up appointments as directed
Records Management
Gather and accurately record dental, medical and insurance information from patients
See that records are stored securely and handled in compliance with legal requirements, including HIPAA regulations
Accurately file patient information
Arrange patient charts and radiographs for the next day’s appointments
Track cases and referrals to and from other doctors
Insurance
Keep patients’ insurance information up to date
Submit treatment plans for predetermination of benefits
Prepare claim forms for patients with dental insurance
Organize supporting materials for claim forms, such as radiographs or written narratives.
Mail claim forms from office
Post checks received each day
Correspondence
Sort, organize, and distribute mail
Prepare and send out new patient and referral thank-you letters
Prepare and send out correspondences
Office Participation
Be an active participant in team meetings
Perform other tasks as assigned by the dentist
