What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Certified Peer Support Specialist position at Rising Stars?
Position Summary
Provide individualized and group support for adults with mental health needs. Using lived experience, help clients set and achieve personal recovery goals, build resilience, and navigate behavioral health systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support clients in identifying personal goals and developing wellness and recovery plans.
- Facilitate peer-led wellness sessions and recovery groups.
- Provide coaching in coping skills, self-advocacy, medication adherence, and daily living skills.
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities to connect clients with resources.
- Document all client interactions while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Participate in team supervision and collaborative case planning.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Peer Specialist certification preferred (CPS, CRPA, or equivalent).
- Personal lived experience with mental health or behavioral health recovery.
- Strong understanding of recovery principles, client-centered support, and wellness strategies.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
