First Class Pre- K Lead Teacher

Job Description:
Rising Stars Academy is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and highly qualified First Class Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team. This position is part of Alabama’s First Class Pre-K program and requires a strong background in early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices.

The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, structured classroom environments, and preparing children for kindergarten success.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with Alabama Early Learning Standards
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
• Maintain compliance with DHR and First Class Pre-K guidelines
• Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques
• Collaborate with administration and participate in required trainings

Lead Teacher Qualifications (Required):

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess one of the following:
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher in Early Childhood Education
• Degree in Human Environmental Science with concentration in Early Childhood Development or Child Development
• Special Education degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework
• Elementary Education degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a preschool or Pre-K classroom
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Familiarity with assessment tools and curriculum planning
• Passion for working with young children and families
