Job Overview
We are seeking a long term,dedicated and honest Dressage Groom to join our small team at Rising Lark Farm- Olathe, KS.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the care of our dressage horses. Candidate would ensuring they are healthy, well-groomed, and prepared for training. Your enthusiasm for animal welfare and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our dressage program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with large warmblood horses of all ages in a professional, fast-paced environment committed to excellence.
Duties
- Provide daily grooming, cleaning, and tacking of dressage horses, ensuring they are presented at their best for training and weekend clinics
- Assist with horse feeding, watering, and medication administration according to care schedules
- Maintain clean and safe barn, tackroom, and turnouts
- Turning horses out and general ground horse handling
- Monitor horses’ health and behavior, reporting any concerns to the trainer
- Help with equipment maintenance, including tack cleaning and storage organization
- Feeding lunch hay, and mash
- Cleaning autom waters, and dumping/ refilling buckets daily
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with horses in a professional setting, especially in dressage or similar disciplines
- Knowledge of large horse handling, including equine behavior
- Experience giving oral meds
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of feed bags, hay, water buckets
- Ability to work without supervision when trainer is away
- MUST be 21, have reliable transportation, is honest, and drama free
