About The Role
The Shift Supervisor (PM) provides on-site operational leadership within the RTC’s scattered site model, assuming key administrative and safety oversight responsibilities during assigned shifts. This role ensures safe, structured, and therapeutic program operations while supervising staff and supporting youth. The Shift Supervisor serves as the highest-level on-site leader and is responsible for crisis response, staffing coordination, and regulatory compliance.
Must obtain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer certification within six (6) months of hire; registration required upon hire.

This position operates within a 24/7 Residential Treatment Program serving youth ages 12–21 across multiple sites. Staff are assigned a primary location but may be required to support other sites as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a 24/7, on-site position with PM shifts typically 2–10pm or 3–11pm. Staff may be required to stay beyond scheduled hours if coverage is unavailable and must maintain flexibility in scheduling and work location across program sites to ensure continuity of care.

What You’ll Do
- Operational and Administrative Oversight:
- Serve as the on-site leadership point person during assigned shifts.
- Monitor and adjust staffing across sites to maintain required supervision ratios and ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping, staff sign-in/out, and shift-to-shift communication
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including incident reports, logbooks, census, and missing person records
- Oversee implementation of AWOL/missing person protocols and high-risk procedures
- Notify leadership of critical incidents in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate required daily, overnight, and weekend reporting
- Serve as liaison to emergency services and external stakeholders
- Oversee transportation coordination, including vehicle usage and logs
- Coordinate 24-hour and weekend reporting as required.
- Crisis Leadership & Safety Management:
- Lead crisis response efforts and deploy staff as needed
- Ensure adherence to TCI protocols and confirm follow-up after restraints
- Review incident documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Support post-crisis debriefing and restoration of program routine
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment, including routine safety checks
- Direct Youth Care & Program Implementation:
- Supervise and coach Childcare Workers during assigned shifts Reinforce trauma-informed, strengths-based practices and professional boundaries
- Support onboarding and training of new staff
- Escort and supervise youth in daily routines, recreation, and therapeutic activities, including transportation as needed
- Support youth in activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Implement PBIS practices and model ROAR values (Respect, On Task, Act Safely, Be Responsible)
- Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Address and escalate staff performance or conduct concerns as needed
- Support consistent program structure, communication, and service delivery across sites
- Utilize TCI Trainer certification to provide coaching and facilitate TCI-based training for RTC staff as needed, with a focus on supporting staff on assigned shifts.
- Provide monthly individual and group supervision to assigned staff, including coaching, performance feedback, and documentation in accordance with agency standards.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential treatment, special education, or similar setting
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience working with youth with behavioral, emotional, or developmental needs
- Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and crisis management skills
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required

- Must be approved as an agency driver upon hire
- Maintain all required certifications and trainings, including fire safety certifications (e.g., S95, F07), in compliance with regulatory and program requirements
- Attend required trainings and maintain annual recertifications
- Demonstrate commitment to agency mission, policies, and standards
