Rising Ground is headquartered in New York City.

Role Overview

ATLAS supports individuals released on their own recognizance across New York City who face a heightened risk of future victimization or justice system involvement. As an ATLAS Interventionist, you will provide intensive, family-focused Functional Family Case Management (FF-CM), helping adults and their families connect with community resources and services that address referral behaviors and family risk factors.

FF-CM follows the relational, strengths-based, and respect-based principles of Functional Family Therapy (FFT), with a focus on linking families to existing services. You will engage and motivate families, support and monitor their participation in services, and help them sustain gains, apply new skills, and plan for the future. The model aims to increase young adults’ engagement in therapeutic services, particularly FFT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Functional Family Case Management virtually, in participants’ homes, or in the community, adhering to model fidelity requirements and maintaining a caseload of 10–15 individuals or families residing in New York City and referred to ATLAS.
  • Engage adults and families through relationally focused support, building motivation to connect with services and address family needs and risk factors.
  • Connect participants with community resources and create opportunities to access family therapy services, particularly FFT, in settings that are convenient and appropriate for participants.
  • Support and monitor families as they participate in services, and help them sustain progress, apply new skills, and plan for the future.
  • Participate in weekly team consultation, group and individual supervision, and all required FFT training, supervision, and consultation activities.
  • Document case progress notes within 48 hours, in accordance with FFT requirements.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. This description does not cover every activity, duty, or responsibility required for this position. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.

  • At least two years of experience in community work.
  • Experience working with adolescents and knowledge of the juvenile justice and criminal justice systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of the New York City Department of Education system, the New York City criminal legal system, and community-based resources available to families in New York City.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • Brooklyn office and field settings, including participants’ homes and community locations throughout New York City.
  • Virtual service delivery is also allowed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
