Certified Peer Support Specialist

Overview:

MUST BE CERTIFIED BY UNC-CHAPEL HILL AS A CERTIFIED PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST AND HAVE A CERTIFIED PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE FROM UNC CHAPEL HILL SPRINGBOARD.

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide invaluable support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges. If you are passionate about helping others and have experience in crisis intervention, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and related areas, we welcome you to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Utilize your expertise in crisis intervention and behavioral health to support individuals in need.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to clients on their journey towards recovery.
- Conduct motivational interviewing sessions to empower individuals to make positive changes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social workers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Assist in crisis management situations with empathy and understanding.

Requirements:

- Certification as a Peer Specialist.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and systems.
- Experience in mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health practices.
- Ability to effectively mentor and support individuals facing challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
