Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trim Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing interior and exterior trim components in residential and commercial projects. Your expertise in woodworking, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools will ensure high-quality craftsmanship that enhances the aesthetic and functional aspects of our clients’ spaces. Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute trim installations.
- Measure, cut, shape, and install various trim elements including baseboards, crown molding, door casings, window trims, and custom woodwork.
- Use hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and screwdrivers along with power tools for woodworking like drills, saws, sanders, and CNC machines to complete tasks efficiently.
- Prepare surfaces by caulking, sanding, or applying finishing materials to ensure smooth and professional results.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate installation schedules and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials regularly while practicing power tool safety at all times.
- Assist with other carpentry tasks such as framing, siding installation, door hanging, or minor repairs as needed on construction sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential carpentry with a strong focus on trim carpentry; construction site experience is essential.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to carpentry projects.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools specific to woodworking and framing tasks.
- Knowledge of wood construction materials including moldings, siding materials, cabinetry components, and metal studs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation processes.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and interpreting technical plans for accurate material measurement.
- Strong understanding of power tool safety standards and best practices for working with wood construction materials.
