Summary

The Demand Planner is responsible for managing stock levels and on time replenishment
and fulfillment of orders and for balancing production with inventory and customer
requirements. This role deals with Materials Resource Planning and Management of
Capacity and informs Production of the schedule on a recurring basis. The Demand
Planner works in a dynamic production environment and acts a communication liaison
between multiple departments in overseeing the efficient and timely execution of
production orders to achieve stock availability and forecast goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Rishi Tea reserves the right

  • Enter, Edit & Review all Production Orders

o Replenishment to Plan
o New Items to Plan
o By Special Order or Private Label to Sales Order

  • Accurately manage the data on all Production Orders

o Due Dates
o Line Codes
o Workflow Status (Firm Planned, Released, Finished)
o Bill of Materials
o Requested and current reforms reviewed prior to production

  • Oversee the Master Production Plan

o Review overallocations and adjust accordingly to eliminate stock outs
o Confirm out of stocks & discontinuations and research and communicate
accordingly
o Coordinate Production Order Workflow Status, Line Codes and Due Dates
to issue a Master Schedule for Production

o Communicate to Management regarding progress to completion,
disruptions to stock or missed due dates
o Ensure all Released Production Orders are in progress with Production or
adjusted appropriately

  • Daily review and maintenance of out of stock and back in stock dates for

Production Orders and data based on Production and material availability

  • Analysis of quarterly sales forecasts to Production Orders for future production

and needed raw materials

  • Participate in meetings with Procurement to understand raw material delays or

out of stocks and adjust Production Order dates accordingly

  • Communicate to operations leadership recommended long-term capacity

improvements as needed for growth based on forecast

  • Monitor and manage Production Orders and consumption usage in Business

Central ensuring that the data is up to date and appropriate for timely
replenishment

  • Ensure needed materials are available between warehouses, including

scheduling of in-house printing of labels

  • Communicate BOM inaccuracies or updates needed such as Special

Instructions, Do Not Produce, omissions or temporary reforms addressed

  • Comply with all food manufacturing and facility safety requirements.
  • Responsible for being aware of and following all food safety protocols as required

by Rishi Tea's food safety management system, as they relate to this position

Goals of Position:

  • Replenishment stocks managed to positive and proactive impact stock levels

preventing loss of sales and sales order fulfillment disruption

  • Production Planning is accurate and used for scheduling, procurement, and

inventory management

  • Increased productivity and efficiencies gained as a result of improved planning

activities

*Supervisory Responsibilities

  • There are no direct Supervisory requirements, however the Production Planner will

have a leadership role of participating and leading cross functional meetings

  • Production Manager & Supervisors to assist with creating work schedules based

on the plan

  • Director of Inventory and Buyers on material resources, item numbers and

adjustments

  • Quality Assurance on NCM’s and Bill of Material updates
  • Sales & Marketing and Fulfillment related to back in stock and out of stock

information

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 Year production order scheduling, planning experience
  • At least 1 Years’ relevant experience in a multi-line manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate experience and proficiency with MS Applications especially MS Excel

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating
and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals which are written in English. Ability
to effectively communicate information via verbal or written mediums. Ability to speak
effectively and present information to coworkers and supervisors as needed.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in front
of a computer for prolonged periods, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or

employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with
hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds. Hand-eye coordination
necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
