Position Summary
Client is seeking motivated and dependable General Laborers to join our manufacturing team in Madison Heights. This position is responsible for cleaning and handling steel coils, operating forklifts, assisting with material movement, and supporting daily production operations. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, energetic, and thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare steel coils for processing and shipment.
- Operate forklifts to safely move materials throughout the facility.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging steel products.
- Utilize overhead crane equipment to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform general labor and production support duties as assigned.
- Inspect materials for quality and report any defects or concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with team members to meet production goals.
- Assist with inventory movement and warehouse-related tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous forklift operating experience required.
- Overhead crane experience preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor experience preferred.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and moving materials.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and good energy.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow safety guidelines.
