Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation
- Maintain condiments and other supplies filled and readily available to use by cooking team.
- Package and serve meals as needed, within guidelines; assist in the meal expediting process
- Assist with cooking or dining room service as needed
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain cleanliness of work areas, surfaces and dining areas
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs., reasonable accommodations may be made
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work effectively as a team
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances
- Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Commitment to organization’s mission, vision and values
- Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
- Have a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)
- Some High School coursework; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food handler’s license or prior completion of food safety coursework preferred
