ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Corporate Engagement, Events & Volunteer Manager is responsible for designing and executing RiseBoro’s signature and cultivation events, as well as leading the organization’s year-round corporate and volunteer engagement strategies. This role turns mission-based programming into a structured corporate engagement platform by creating high-quality volunteer opportunities and events that attract, retain, and deepen relationships with current and prospective corporate partners. The position serves as a bridge between Advancement, Communications, and division programs. This position will help convert corporate participation into stronger sponsorship support, more competitive corporate grant applications, repeat employee engagement, and broader institutional partnerships. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning and execution of RiseBoro’s annual special events, cultivation events, and corporate volunteer activations from concept through completion, including strategy, timelines, budgets, staffing, and post-event follow-up.
  • Design, build, and manage a year-round corporate volunteer program that creates meaningful employee engagement opportunities aligned with RiseBoro’s mission, programmatic priorities, and fundraising goals.
  • Develop a portfolio of volunteer offerings for corporate partners, including hands-on service projects, donation drives, site-based engagement opportunities, executive volunteer experiences, and skills-based volunteer initiatives.
  • Partner with program staff across the organization to identify and structure volunteer opportunities that are operationally realistic, mission-aligned, and attractive to current and prospective corporate partners.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate partners, donors, sponsors, and prospective funders to expand volunteer participation, event sponsorship, employee engagement, and broader corporate support.
  • Work closely with the Development team to identify, qualify, and advance corporate prospects whose volunteer engagement may lead to sponsorships, grants, in-kind contributions, employee giving campaigns, or deeper partnerships.
  • Support the growth of corporate grant applications by identifying companies aligned with RiseBoro’s mission and developing volunteer and event-based partnership concepts that strengthen proposals.
  • Help increase corporate support of RiseBoro’s events by creating sponsorship and engagement pathways that connect volunteerism, visibility, employee participation, and philanthropic investment.
  • Evaluate the growth potential of each event and volunteer activation, establish baseline participation and revenue goals, and analyze performance against defined metrics.
  • Create detailed project plans, timelines, and work plans for each event and volunteer initiative, while monitoring budgets, revenue projections, participation targets, and partner follow-up.
  • Ensure all events and volunteer experiences align with RiseBoro’s brand and are supported by consistent, high-quality, partner-facing communication.
  • Collaborate with Development and Communications to shape materials, messaging, sponsorship benefits, stewardship content, and event-specific outreach for corporate audiences.
  • Manage key internal and external relationships necessary for successful event and volunteer execution, including vendors, venues, program leads, corporate contacts, and internal leadership.
  • Identify and secure suitable venues based on event goals, negotiate contracts, coordinate site visits, and ensure venue selection supports cultivation and sponsorship objectives.
  • Source and manage vendors such as caterers, decorators, entertainers, audiovisual technicians, rental firms, and production partners, overseeing contracts, payments, and performance.
  • Create and manage event and activation budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial targets and revenue expectations.
  • Coordinate logistics for events and volunteer activations, including setup, teardown, transportation, supplies, staffing, safety protocols, and participant communications.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for RiseBoro with corporate partners and event stakeholders, providing regular updates, addressing inquiries, and managing expectations throughout planning and execution.
  • Oversee on-site event and volunteer activation execution, ensuring all elements are delivered according to plan and resolving issues in real time.
  • Identify risks and develop contingency plans to protect participant experience, staff capacity, site operations, and attendee safety.
  • Conduct post-event and post-activation evaluations to assess success, gather feedback from staff, board members, volunteers, sponsors, and participants, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to corporate engagement, including volunteer participation, repeat partner engagement, sponsorship revenue, grant opportunities generated, grant applications supported, and corporate relationships advanced.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM and other tracking systems to ensure strong stewardship, follow-up, reporting, and pipeline management.

Corporate Partnership Expansion and Engagement Strategy

  • Increase the number of corporate partners engaged through volunteer programming year over year.
  • Expand the number and quality of corporate volunteer opportunities available across RiseBoro program areas.
  • Increase corporate support for signature events through sponsorships, attendance, committee participation, and related engagement.
  • Generate and support new corporate grant opportunities by aligning employee engagement and community investment interests with RiseBoro programs.
  • Strengthen collaboration between Advancement and division programs so volunteer experiences serve as a gateway to deeper corporate partnerships.
  • Improve retention and repeat engagement of corporate partners through strong execution, stewardship, and follow-up.
  • Build a measurable pipeline in which corporate volunteer engagement contributes to sponsorship growth, grant submissions, and longer-term institutional support.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work across internal teams and with external stakeholders at a high level.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • Strong commitment to RiseBoro’s mission and values.
