Are you an Embedded Engineer or Firmware Engineering Leader with experience developing software for power electronics, power conversion, power generation or high-voltage industrial systems, looking to lead a specialist engineering team developing cutting-edge power control technology?

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team of embedded engineers developing advanced SCR and IGBT-based power conversion systems used across critical industrial applications worldwide. You'll take ownership of the software function, shaping technical direction whilst mentoring and developing your team.

Joining an industry-leading manufacturer, you'll drive embedded software development across the full product lifecycle, influencing engineering standards, software strategy and product innovation. With clear progression towards Director of Software Engineering, this role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

In this technically focused leadership role, you'll lead the development of embedded C/C firmware for high-power digital control systems, overseeing software architecture, real-time control algorithms, hardware integration and project delivery. Remaining hands-on, you'll support debugging and validation whilst collaborating with hardware and systems teams to deliver robust, high-performance power electronics solutions.

This role would suit a Senior Embedded Controls Engineer ready to step into management, or an existing Firmware or Embedded Software Manager with experience in power electronics, industrial power systems, power conversion or high-voltage controls, looking for greater autonomy, technical ownership and long-term progression.

The Role:

• Lead the development of embedded C/C firmware for high-power SCR and IGBT-based control systems.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of Embedded Software Engineers whilst driving engineering best practice.
• Oversee software architecture, hardware integration, debugging, validation and project delivery from concept through to production.

The Candidate:

• Embedded C/C firmware development experience.
• Experience within power electronics, power conversion, power generation or high-voltage industrial systems.
• Leadership experience, or a Senior Engineer looking to step into management.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
