This company is an R&D company focused on improving oil & gas technologies. They develop new drilling, fracturing, and materials technologies, work on more efficient and cleaner energy solutions, and run labs for testing things like drilling fluids, sensors, and downhole tools.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, validation, and commercialization of advanced MWD tools and subsystems, ensuring they perform reliably in harsh downhole environments, including extreme temperature, shock, vibration, and pressure conditions.
The Role:
- Design and implement high-temperature MWD system architecture for reliable downhole performance
- Design, analyze, and validate MWD electronics and subsystems
- Use engineering tools and simulations to assess performance and reliability
- Oversee lab and environmental testing to qualify tools for field deployment
- Support field trials and coordinate with personnel and customers
- Drive commercialization, documentation, and product training
- Coordinate with vendors and partners on component sourcing and technology
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to MWD technology planning
The Person:
- Experience in R&D or product development
- Experience developing high-temperature MWD/LWD systems (>175°C)
- Strong knowledge of MWD components, sensors, telemetry, and downhole electronics
- Skilled in integrating and validating complex downhole tools
- Understanding of drilling operations and rig-site practices; field experience preferred
Salary : $150,000 - $240,000
